More than two weeks after the tragic deaths of esteemed film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones are still paying respects to the pair.

Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Writing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, stated he just recently felt prepared to post publicly about his profound loss.

"The movie is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Things that Rob held dear. That is part of the many reasons he was the ideal person to direct it," Elwes continued.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, saying: "Claiming that they were a incredible duo would be an oversimplification. My heart still aches every time I recall you." He concluded with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Friend and Collaborator

In a separate tribute, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was very funny and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the protagonist.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked beautifully with the cast, and he comprehended the human predicament of his character," Scorsese noted.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Withheld

Recently, a Los Angeles judge ruled to block the disclosure of the Reiners' autopsy reports, following a petition from the local authorities.

A legal directive issued a restriction on the investigation to restrict the public release of "all case details, evidence and photographs" pertaining to the active case.

The Medical Examiner's office had already determined their deaths were the consequence of murder, with a official listing listing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".
